Nånstans på nätet läste jag följande karakterisering av Bluephoria:
A rock’n roll rumination on the duality of human experience…
where the bitter and sweet twine together…
where suffering and joy are galvanized into meaning…
like ecstatic sorrow or joyful despair…
En filosofisk rock’n roll-betraktelse över dubbelheten i den mänskliga erfarenheten…
där det bittra och det söta slingra sig samman…
där lidande och glädje galvaniseras och får mening…
extatisk sorg / glädjefull förtvivlan… (min övers.)
Det är väl inte något sådär absolut märkvärdigt med låten, rent musikaliskt, i alla fall ingenting nytt direkt. Det är amerikansk bluesrock, rotrock, om man så vill, skriven och framförd av Larkin Poe, som består av systrarna Rebecca Lovell och Megan Lovell. Och dom diggar jag i och för sig till max, det gör jag verkligen.
Men det är framför allt texten till Bluephoria som jag finner suveränt bra. Titeln är ju för det första smått genial; euphoria (lyckorus) har blivit bluephoria (bluesrus). Och resten är precis lagom rockigt oklar så där, samtidigt som den faktiskt säger nåt existentiellt om vad innebär att vara människa (se citatet ovan). Den som kunde skriva såna låttexter ändå…
